This is one of my favorite sayings by my Granny, Mariel Mae Summers Flory of Cattlet, Va. She would warn me to “have your adventure” before life became real-before I even knew what that meant as a young man. An uplifting tale of defiance against those who “give you debt”, “lies, heartache and pain”. I think the parting, “directions to the promised land” encapsulate the theme of the record-no matter where you are, who you are-gather strength from the love and light in those around you who can haul your blues away-and Have Your Adventure.
