Peter Mack Built A Semi Truck is a meditation on the expansiveness of the human spirit in the face of adversity-namely depression. The song is a journey taken by truck (with a nod to David Lynn Jones), train, song, and drink to try and reach a destination of healing, but without someone (be it romantic or otherwise) to build a lasting relationship of love and trust, how far can we really get? The song has a more meaningful, personal role in my live sets as I first played it for my friend Greg Enlow, who’s since passed on. It’s a song for those who’ve loved, and maybe lost, but never gave up trying.
